Prince William County has put some $$$ in this course over the last year or so. It is now called Generals Ridge Golf course. Except for shortening one par 4 to a par 3 to make it playable it is still a very difficult challange for most golfers. It you think you have a 12 - 10 handicap, then give it a try. It should be 7 strokes more difficult than your handicap might suggest. Must be in the fairway all day and walkable only for the 20 somethings in great shape. Stay in the cart and drive carefully.

The greens are well kept and very fast at times. Many are sloped and undulated which makes putting difficult at times. The course is pretty open but has a nice layout.

Lost Key Golf Club
"Bring Balls"
Lost Key is a great layout with the best greens in the Gulfshores/Pensacola area. Although the greens are extremely fast they are very puttable if you are on the right side of the hole. The fairways are fairly tight with lateral hazzards down both sides of almost everyone. They should change the course name to Lost Balls. Great course for the money if you hit it fairly straight.

"Greens Can Be Fast Without Being Like Concrete"
Take this course to Scotland where it belongs. Whomever is the greenskeeper here needs a bit of elementary training in the concept of WATER. Greens can be fast without being unreceptive to a golfball. It is rediculous when a topped 4-iron produces a better result than a high, spinning wedge. It is a well-designed course, but you just can't hide the pins behind bunkers when the golfer has no chance of holding the green. It is just plain goofy golf. To watch fairly accomplished players putt from 20 yards off the green is just too bad.
