This very hilly course has at least one water hazard that comes into play on every hole on the front nine. There are only a few sand bunkers on the course however.

| Derryfield is a very good course for medium strength players because the fairways are large and forgiving. The only problem I have with this course is that the 2nd green is in horrible conditiobn, and this is a tough course to walk with a heavy bag. |

My Local Course - but not my favorite, May 21, 2004 |

| Even though it's my local/home course, it's not my favorite place to play in the state. It's more of a "convience course" to quickly play a round or 9 holes after work (it is 18 holes though). Good for beginners and experts alike. Difficulty is about a 4 out of 10 (the hardest part is the hills. Big greens too.). Course Condition is usually 4 out of 10 (they don't seem to do much landscaping here). Hole #2 and 17 are usually watter logged so bring your water proofed shoes. Also, rent a cart unless you are in good condition as many of the holes play along the hill side which has you going up and down. Look to other courses in the region if you are looking to experience NH golf at it's finest as you won't find it here at this municipal course run by the City of Manchester. Oh, they also have so many tourny's here that you probably will need to play in the afternoon too. And there are no twilight rates either. |
