This is an old, traditional-style course with open, mature, tree-lined fairways. There are water hazards that come into play at least twenty times, and the greens vary in undulation. This club has been listed by the USGA as one of the first 100 clubs established in the U.S. It was charted as the sixth oldest in existence. "GOLF Magazine" also named it to its list of the "First 100 Clubs in America" in 1995. "GOLFWEEK" selected it 100th among "America's 100 Best Classical Courses" for 1999.

|This course is awesome. I am a caddy who works there during the summer, and this course is a work of art. It combines great golf play with stunning beauty and trickiness. Great tournaments and caddies round out it's excellence.|
