Colbert Hills at Kansas State University5200 Colbert Hills Dr Manhattan, KS 66503 Phone: (785)776-6475Fax: (785)776-1290
Designed in the Scottish links style by Jeff Brauer and PGA professional James Colbert, Colbert Hills 7525 yards will present a challenge to golfers of all handicaps, and is available for public, as well as collegiate play. Special consideration should be given to the wind on this course, which if used properly, can maximize success. The course signature hole is #7, a 615 yard par 5 that begins with a 90 foot drop from the tee to the fairway. The initial landing area is bracketed by 3 bunkers, making controlled shots essential. The second landing area is also well bunkered, combining with the bunkers at the green to require an entrance from the right side of the second landing area. Colbert Hills Golf Course has been designated as a "living laboratory" by Kansas State University and is used by the university as an environmental research and turf management facility.

Great Course, Jun 24, 2004

| Best course I've ever played. Landing areas are ample, but if you stray, you're in deep trouble. Play well and you will score well, play poorly and your score will soar. Very fair, and beautiful. Almost all holes offer a complete view of the hole. |

Championship course, Jun 08, 2004

| Colbert Hills brings the feel of a Championship golf course to central Kansas. The layout of this course is outstanding, and the variety of tee box placememnts make it enjoyable for every level of golfing ability.
There is water on key holes and sand bunkers galore. The greens are big but contoured so that they can set many different pin placements, thus making on target approach shots a neccesity and putting as easy or as hard as they want to make it. Only complaint I had was the fairways were a bit thin, but with Zoysia you get that when it is overly dry.
People in Kansas wanting the feel of a championship course need to play Colbert Hills.

Bring Your 'A' Game, May 10, 2004

| Stand on the bruisers tees and take your best shot. It is the best course in Kansas and having played 40 years in this state I have seen most of the better courses. If you play smart golf, don't try and kill the ball, and trust in the yardage the GPS shows you can get around in good shape. Come play and enjoy. Just one thing. If you tend to spray the balls left and right, bring more balls. |
