This course features wide-open fairways. The front nine is flat and the back nine is rolling. The greens are fairly small and level. Five acres of water hazards (two lakes and one pond) come into play on five holes. There are many out-of-bounds stakes lining the holes and several well-positioned sand bunkers. The most difficult hole is #15, a 400-yard, par 4, requiring an uphill tee shot that plays into a prevailing wind to a landing area between two stands of trees. The restaurant is only open March 15 through October 15.

My wife and I found this to be a fun and challenging course. As novice golfers, I gave this a 3 star rating due to my novice comparisons. We keep going back though and we have found the golf pro to be very friendly and knowledgeable.

The course is very quiet and has a pastoral country charm to it. There are at least three holes where the water is very much in play. Fairway bunkers are well placed on a few long holes to catch a wayward drive. But the greens are the real deal here. Though not extremely large, they are not the smallest greens I've seen and they have always been true, a little on the quick side but not terribly fast, and always well maintained.

If you're making a treck on I44, it will be worth your while to stop in and play the Marshfield C.C. This is a great golf course for any golf skill level and is guaranteed to make you smile. There just aren't that many courses in the area that are as nice and fun to play as Marshfield. No, you won't find any bad greens and fairways there. You'll find well maintained grounds that are a pleasure to play. You'll only now what it's like not having played the Marsfield C.C., not how much fun you could have had.
