This narrow course was built on rolling terrain and features water hazards coming into play on a few holes. The signature hole is #14, a 349-yard, par 4, requiring a shot over water to a small green. There is an additional set of men's tees that can be used when playing an eighteen hole round. Yard markers are 125 yards out.

Enjoyable Experience, May 03, 2004

This 9 hole course has been in pretty good shape the last couple of years, because of very wet weather that keeps the fairways green. They always take good care of the greens, even in dry weather, but the fairways are not watered. Right now the course is in decent shape, with decent lies in the fairways, and the greens are just shaping up to good shape and speed. It is a wide open, easy course to start the season and get your rust worked out and your confidence up. The staff is very friendly and you can't beat a price of $13 to walk 18 holes anytime Monday - Friday. All in all it is a very enjoyable experience, and I have already played it 4 times this season.

golf at raymondville g&cc, is truly an unforgettable experience. the greens are well watered and the bent grass is excellent.there are many challenging holes., the first tee to green is a whopping par 5.with water about 180 yds left.towering trees protect right side, so u must hit a high drive to clear trees. then u have decent chance to get a birdie.7,8 and 9 are long long drives. clubhouse is fantastic

A course perhaps more friendly for the long-ball hitter with more than enough water and some deviously placed sand. Access to the course requires a military affiliation or a friend who can host your play but, well worth the trip. Given its location (on base), play is seldom hampered by a crowded course which also makes it a most hospitable course for the slower player, the short ball hitter or those just learning the game. The placement of water (ponds and streams) makes for an interesting attack plan and invites disaster for the reckless. Improved traps, general landscaping and more attention to tee boxes and greens over the past two seasons has made the course much more enjoyable. The first six holes are a low rolling layout with a lot of trees in play along the fairways. The rest of the course is basically flat with several holes playing parallel to the runway and an occasional aircraft take-off or landing adding to the view. Course amenities are well maintained. Walk, pull a cart or ride in a relatively new electric cart. The golf carts are in great shape and an adjacent driving range is a plus for tuning up before hitting off of the first tee. The clubhouse has a small grill for lunch with a comfortable seating area for a beer after the game. The pro shop is equipped to handle most needs.

Zionsville Golf Course
"Great for a 9-hole golf fix"
I find ZGC to be a great, local course to get away to for a <2 hour golf fix for nine holes. One has the opportunity to pull out the driver for tee shots on at least four of the holes. Because of the unique layout of holes 1, 5, 7 and 8 you are required to consider length and placement when considering club selection off the tee. Course maintenance has improved over the last couple years, and the greens are in good shape. I enjoy playing there 2-3 times/month from March to November.
