A few minutes west of St. Louis, is the Crystal Springs Quarry Golf Complex. Conceived in 1997 as a 9-hole par 36 course, an additional 9 holes were added in November 2000. The course is now an 18-hole par 71 and plays to 6,840 yards from the back tees. The greens are fairly large and fast, and the fairways, for the most part, are lined with trees and water. The signature hole is #2, a 452-yard, par 4, which plays from an elevated tee along a quarry and becomes very tight from approximately 130 yards out.Additional renovations include a lighted and heated driving range with grass and synthetic tees, and Limestone�s restaurant at the club pro shop.

Good golf..., May 16, 2004

I have played Crystal Springs Quarry on a number of occasions, and I must say it is one of my favorite courses. The setting is beautiful, and the holes are challenging. The #2 hole features an elevated tee, and this is pretty rare in Missouri. Lots of fun and affordable.

"It's the people"
I love this golf course. I play in a tournament here every year. I always think I'm going to do better but it has these challenges that change my swing. You will find yourself protecting against going out of bounds, water hazards, sand, trees...they have it all. The number 9 eats me up. It's a dogleg right and if you can manage to stay away from the small canyon on the right you still have the challenge getting on the green that you better save an extra stroke for! Be careful if you go over this green....nothing but trouble. The main thing about this course is the people. They treat you like you were the only one playing that day. You will love the scenery also.

Rock Creek Golf & Country Club
"Rock Creek"
Rock Creek is a very fun course to play. It is not very challenging and is a very short course. The fairways are tree lined but they do not come into play on most shots. The course is in fair shape and is not expensive to play. It is a fun course to learn the game on or to just come out and have some fun on.

Brookside Golf Course
"Excellent value and old fashioned feel"
Brookside is an excellent value, and offers intangibles that many other courses in its price range can't, at least in the Saline/Ann Arbor area. It has been in existence for decades, and feels like well established. The trees are all large and grown, the terrain is rolling and interesting, the greens are well aged, and the course comes across as being more "natural" rather than man-made. Also, it is family owned and it shows in the freindliness of the employees. There are lots of "regulars" that make for a very relaxed atmosphere. The course may be old, and rustic, but it is well maintained and interesting.
