Trick Golf Course w/ premium on Iron Play, Aug 02, 2004 |

| Put your driver in the trunk because the long shot is not there. Heavy emphasis on being able to read yardage and playing the course! Wonderful course for an exercise in using everything in your bag. |

Reasonably Priced Excellent Course, Jul 23, 2004 |

| This course is quite playable, from the tips. It's a little short if you play from the white tees. There are 2 extra par 3 holes on this course, but don't let them fool you. There is water on alomst all of the holes that must be carried to reach the green in one. Oh, and all but one of the par 3 holes is around the 200 yard distance. The back 9 is fairly secluded and you very rarely see other holes while playing. All in all, this course is one the the nicest/inexpensive courses in the Dayton/Cincinnati area. |

A Poor Man's Gatlinburg, Jun 24, 2004 |

| Now surrounded by a nice residential development, Crooked Tree is attempting to smooth out the rough areas visible throughout the course. If you broke your driver in a tirade last night and haven't had time to re-shaft the club, never fear. Placement, even on the par fives is more important than distance. A tough hole to par on number one is followed by an uphill par three with no view of the green from the tee box. A tree in the middle of the fairway on #3 makes reaching the green in regulation impossible for all but the skilled long hitters. Number four restores your confidence only long enough to face another placement dilemma on five. Shot makers can negotiate narrow landing areas on numbers 7,8 & 9 (the latter being a par five where a driver is best left in your bag.) A poor man's Gatlinburg aptly describes the entire course. Fairways seem always blocked by unnecessary obstructions. Water can come into play on as many as ten holes if you're long on your approach shot to #1. You seldom notice the bunkers. The greens are entirely too inconsistent. A long hitter that wants to let it out needs to visit some of the other local courses. But if you need to work on your shot making, this is the course for you. The staff is accomodating, if a little constipated. The limited restaurant/bar is open at their convenience, but staffed by friendly folks when it is. The pro shop is developing a better selection, but lacking in deals. The clubhouse seems dingy and underground, along with needing a fresh coat of paint and new carpet. The surrounding development (nice not opulent) deceives you into thinking it will be a polished course with sufficient amenities. It comes up a little short there. |

better be accurate, Jun 17, 2004 |

| This course was challenging and beautiful. As per usual when playing a course for the first time, my game was not as good as my usual handicap would indicate; however, this did not preclude my enjoyment of the golf course. Tight fairways, often seperated into segments by cross-cutting creeks, are generally lined with dense brush and are never flat. Elevated tees, elevated greens, or just generally hilly fairways keep most holes aesthetically pleasing and never boring. The grounds crew does its job well, as greens and fairways are well-kept for optimum performance. One interesting aspect of this course is that each 9 features three par-3's, four par-4's, and 2 par-5's for a combined 70, two below the average 72. This is just one more thing that makes this course anything but boring. I highly recommend it! |
