This course's frequently watered fairways are narrow and have numerous trees along their edges. The signature hole is #12, a 150-yard, par 3, where you tee off of a cliff and over a lake. The greens are well guarded by sand bunkers. Tee times are only reserved for Sundays and holidays.

A hidden gem that most will never get to play, Sep 10, 2006

| Roxiticus is an excellent, extremely well-maintained, fairly short, but always challenging golf course. With only 300 members, tee times are unavailable (and not necessary), except for Sundays and holiday. But unless you know a member, you simply can't play. There is A LOT of water (holes 2,4,5,6,7,12,13,14,15) in play. I would suggest looking up the course on Google Earth to get a feel for the course. There's also excellent tennis courts, swimming pool, pro shop, and a fantastic club house with restaurant, men's grill (sorry ladies), and beautiful views of the 18th green. There's an irons-only driving range behing 17, and a new short par-3 practice hole. The restaurant is top notch and I hear has a new kitchen. If you live in the Mendham area, you may get to play in a small tournament (chamber of commerce, etc.). If you get a chance, bring plenty of golf balls and be sure to try a Roxi Burger at the turn! |

| The course was immaculately kept and wonderfully managed. It's a magnificent layout for a short golf course, that in fact was not as short as it read because of the never-ending undulation and hilly nature of the fairways and greens. There never seemed to be an even lie or a hole that allowed any golfer a break. If your looking for a challenge, look no further. The head golf pro and his staff are by far the best around. I have played hundreds of courses in the country and their professionalism, expertise, as well as the warm atmosphere they provide for their guests ranks them top 3 on my list of favorites anywhere in the country. Surprisingly they have not recieved even near the proper amount of press they deserve. Roxiticus is the "jewel of the nile", not just the golf course, but the overall experience. It is a must play if the opportunity warrants itself. |
