Located a short distance form Kennedy Space Center is The Savannahs at Merritt Island. This champioship course measures 6,636 yards from the back tees and plays to a par of 72.This course was built on flat terrain, so it is easy to walk. The fairways are medium width and partially tree lined. The small greens are fast and somewhat difficult to read. Four sets of tees are available to challenge a variety of handicaps. Water hazards come into play on fourteen holes. An interesting hole is #7, a 555-yard, par 5, which is completely surrounded by water.

Savannahs is my favorite course in Brevard County. The front nine will kill you if you have a bad right slice. The tee boxes on the first nine holes are tightly lined with trees and water hazards are everywhere(Hole 4 is a trick). The back nine is a little easier and a little longer. Only down side is the rain in the summer sometimes makes the green a bit soggy. Over all this course is difficult yet fun and the price is excellent. Has an aqua range too if you want to drive some.

Excellent condition, greens were getting touched up but other than that they normally run quicker. Not very long for back tees, but a ton of water. If you have trouble going to the right you are going to need extra golf balls. Walking is not an option! It may be a flatter course, however there is a great deal of length in between tee boxes as the course winds through the development.

This course had some water hazards, but the true challenge to to fight the woods. This course is not a picnic. If it had the hotsy totsy clubhouse and the snob appeal, it would easily be a 4 or 5.

This course has it's own set of challenges. It was well maintained, even in the middle of the summmer. I have no problem coming here again.
