This course's front nine is very flat and open, whereas the back nine is more hilly, scenic and tree lined. Water comes into play on ten holes, and most of the greens are well bunkered. The signature hole is #15, a 401-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot from off a 200-foot cliff to a narrow fairway.

Everyone should check this one out!, May 09, 2009

Everyone should play here at least once. Check it out. The back 9 reminds me of the very best national parks I've been to. The signature hole has got to be seen, to be believed. I don't think there is another one like it in all of North America. The staff, and well, everybody else I've met here is friendly, and they've got their own bar and restaurant in the same building as the pro-shop. The course has it's own driving range, and practice area (for putting and bunker/chip shots), so you can get warmed up before you hit the course. Which is important if you are serious about golf because this course is not exactly easy, it has a relatively high slope rating. The course is very well maintained, the greens are fast and challenging (watch out for those false fronts). The bunkers are well placed. In a nutshell, if you get anywhere near par here, you'll likely be able to ace most of the others. And yes, I happen to live here in Hidden Valley Lake and I have an annual membership to the course (lucky me!)

Nice layout, Jan 28, 2008

This course was a nice challenge. The maintenace of this golf course is top notch. Greens were in excellent shape, tees we're lush and smooth, and the fairways gave great lies. I especially enjoyed the back nine, which had swift dog legs throughout and a cliff hole, # 15 which you hit to a fairway 300 feet below you with an awesome veiw for many many miles. Nice golf course!!

Very nice greens!!!!, Nov 05, 2006

Wow, what a nice course, very challenging. Flat and wide open front 9, and a hilly and surprising back 9, especially # 15 - what a view. I've played alot of courses in the north bay, and I've got to say that this course is very well maintained, a hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. Greens are true, smooth and quick; Fairways and rough are dense, and the tees are well situated. Nice looking community too!

nice, playable course, Jul 18, 2005

I am just a beginner golfer, but I liked playing this course. The front nine starts out on flat ground with slightly raised greens and some hazards to maneuver around. The back nine works its way up and over a ridge with a wonderful view toward Mount St. Helena from 15. It can get hot during the day in the summer though, go earlier in the morning if possible.
