There is water that comes into play on three holes. The signature hole is #5, a 450-yard, par 4, to an elevated green. Bill Amick designed the back nine, which was added in 1971, and Don Cottle redesigned the entire course in 1990.

Great value for a Fun Course, Oct 27, 2004

I grew up playing at the Monroe G & CC, and since I've moved to Altanta, I can't say that I've played anywhere much better as far as the condition of the course and the level of challenge. Monroe G & CC offers a fantastic value for those who would liket to play at the more expensive courses in Atlanta, but find the cost prohibitive. Monroe is located about 50 NE of downtown ATL. It's out in the country, but I think that makes for better scenery.

This course is in excellent condition, May 31, 2004

I golfed your course on Friday May 29, 2004 and found it to be in spectacular condition. The fairways were plush and shots hit like you were hitting from carpet. The greens were fast and true and held well on shots into the green. The only drawback that I can see right now is the length. From the tips it only plays 6300 yards but I also noticed that a few new tee boxes were being installed. Excellent course gentelman!
