This course is characterized by its gently rolling, wooded terrain and a proliferation of natural ponds. The design was constructed along Michigan's scenic Lower Peninsula. The mildly contoured fairways provide generous landing areas, and the moderate undulation of the greens make for subtle breaks. One of the more challenging holes is #13, a 504-yard, par 5. This hole features a dogleg left fairway and a creek running the length of the fairway, eventually crossing in front of the well-bunkered green. This club also boasts a first-class practice facility.

The course is very well kept. Some of the nicest greens around. Rates are high, play is slow on weekends. It's obvious that they get as many people out as they can on the weekends to make up for a slow week.

This course is in the middle of the upper peninsula of Michigan. It is simply the best course I ever played for the money. Living in the midst of legends like grossingers and the concord monster, Tarry Brae offers an equal genre style course at a much better value. Greens usually run fast and true, and the layout is niether quirky nor tricky. A traditional layout at a reasonable price. Game on!

Odyssey Golf Course
"Odyssey is a good course"
I REALLY like this course. It is pretty long (which suits my game well), and there are a lot of places you can get yourself in trouble. The greens are tough to speak of...as pin placement can make this course one of the most challenging in the area (pretty serious breaks), or just a nice Sunday afternoon hackin' with the boys (dead-flat) if greenskeepers are being generous. They have GPS in their golf carts, and charge reasonable fees. The course is very-well maintained, with water in play on a bunch of the holes. In my opinion, Odyssey is the best bang for your buck in the area.
