The property at Mansion Ridge pre-dates the American Revolution and includes several historic structures that create a rustic ambience. The course has an eclectic layout, varying in style from links, to traditionally wooded, to rocky and rugged. This unique design rewards the well-rounded player and makes the course fun to play. Contoured fairways with generous landing areas lead to well-undulated greens, encouraging aggressive shots. On hole #6, a 422-yard, par 4, the elevated tee plays through a narrow opening, over wetlands, to a sloped fairway. The large green is well-bunkered to the left and rear, with trees lining the right side. The 5,697-yard ladies' tee also has a men's course rating of 68.1 and slope of 127.

This golf course has the greatest layout I have ever played, however, it was the worst service experience I have ever had. If I am paying $100+ to play, you had better apreciate me. The cart guys could care less and the shop staff was unprofessional. I did not even see a starter or ranger and the pace was 5 1/2 hours. I would never go back there. The members have been screwed.

It's safe to say that I wasn't too happy about paying $109 for burnt fairways, chopped up greens, and a 5.5 hour round(on a late friday morning). The course layout is fantastic but the starters and rangers might as well be deaf mutes riding around in carts. Bring extra cash for the $4 gatorades. There are tons of better courses in the ny/nj area for the price and challenge, in the catskills especially.

The course is nice; need good planning and approach on your shots which is fun. Unfortunately though the management and service is lacking to say the least. The 1/2 way house was not open to fuel up [with 95+ degree weather] and the workers on the course do not respect the golfer while hitting tee or fairway. The equipment continues running (cutters...), workers on carts drive right by you while teeing off, etc. Not very professional or friendly. Given present weather conditions, the greens keeper has done a good job.

July 30, 2005. fairways green, rough is burnt. Dont pay full price, not worth it. good variation of holes, very challanging but be ready for a 5+ hour round on the weekends. Took me 3 hours to play the front nine, 2 best things about course the burgers at the halfway house, and the hottest cart girl I have ever seen. Rack rate is $$139, not worth half that. 2 some I played with were called and given free rounds. check out teetimeking.com, many times available because nobody wants to play there.

Great Course and great views, Apr 01, 2005 |

Played in early June, 2004. A most enjoyable and challenging course. The greens were a little long, but rolled true. Clubhouse utilizes the old structure of the historic farm in a way that preserves the flavor of the site. Bring your course management game or you will be hitting a few blind shots to get back on track. Lots of tee options so you can make it as tough as you want.
