This course is open to the public on weekdays and after 2 PM on weekends. The fairways are hilly, and some of the greens and tees are elevated. A creek flows through the middle of the course that comes into play on four holes. There is an additional set of tees that can be used when playing an eighteen hole round. Ladies tee off from the same set of tees as the men.

Disappointed, Jul 02, 2007 |

from Rockland County NY |
| I was disappointed with the course conditions, the fairways were very dry, this course needs sprinkler system. Also what was in those bunkers because it wasn't sand. It looked more like dirt to me. It seems as if this country club has a lot of potential, but it lacks an identity. It plays and looks more like an average municipal course than a private club. They need a ranger desperately to keep up the pace of play. I only saw one employee on Sunday and he was collecting greens fees. But for what it is it's great. It's an average municipal course, with a laid back attitude, someplace you could take your kids to learn the game of golf. I just got the impression that it was something more than that from the postings. |

Nice course, great find, Jan 01, 2007 |

| This is a great course. Never had to wait for a tee time. Always plays fast. I played 18 holes in 3 hours. Other area courses take 4 1/2 to 6 hours. Nice layout. Challenging and fast greens. Very nice staff. To the golfer who complained that they were sent away because they weren't wearing collared shirts....GOOD FOR YA! If you want to play golf you should have proper attire...This is a gentlemen's game. Good food in the retaurant is a plus. |

Nice course...Great value, Dec 18, 2006 |

| This is a 9 hole course with 18 different teeing areas so it plays like an 18 hole course. The course is very challenging with elevated greens and a rolling terrain. The staff is very friendly and I've never waitied for a tee time. Play here is fast. Great value for the reasonable fees. I have no idea what a previous reviewer was talking about when he was questioning the fees here....the fees are very reasonable....He's probably not a regular golfer. Good food in the bar and restaurant are a definite plus. |

Great Course for the Money, Dec 07, 2006 |

| This is a great course for the money. It's only 9 holes but they have 18 different teeing areas. I've never had to wait to tee off even without a tee time. Staff is friendly and the course is very challenging. Lots of elevated and undulating greens will certainly challenge golfers of all levels. Restaurant is also great and extremely moderately priced. Can you tell....I like this course. Much better than waiting 2 to 4 hours as a single walk on at courses like Paramus in NJ. |

9 Holes of Hills, Jul 18, 2005 |
| reviewer: Kyle Johnson
from Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ |
| The first hole is a short par 4, dogleg left, over a creek. Easy par. The second hole is a long par 3 with a green that is hard to hit, and a road alongside the fairway that is easy to hit. The third hole is a short par 5 with a slanted fairway and tricky elevated green. The fourth hole is a long downhill par 3 to a sloping green. The fifth hole is a par 5 with the creek in play on the second shot. The sixth hole is an easy short par 3. The seventh hole is a long par 4 with the creek in play on the tee shot to an elevated sloping green. The eighth hole is a short par 4 to postage stamp sized green surrounded by trouble. And the ninth hole is a short par 4 with the creek in the middle. The tees change when you play the back nine to give a different look. The clubhouse is not much, but the bar and restaurant are very nice. The greens and tee areas are very well kept. The fairways are ok, but not great. The rough is pretty brutal in spots. Bring a good utility wood to get out of it. The greens are tricky, but fair. They don't always break the way they look. The pace of play is very fast. My average round is completed in 3 1/2 hours. It's semi-private. The public can play during the week and after 200 pm on weekends. It's ususally very uncrowded. Membership is really inexpensive and looks like a very good value if you golf a lot. I live in Northern New Jersey, and Monroe is only 30 minutes from where I live. I enjoy playing here a lot. |
