This course has a spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The fairways are tree lined, and water hazards come into play on almost every hole. Hole #15, a 410-yard, par 4, stretches down to a green that has a beautiful panoramic view of Table Rock, famous for its rappelling and Hollywood allure (i.e. Last of the Mohicans). There are out-of-bounds stakes lining eight holes.

Donald Ross at his finest, Jul 04, 2004

This Donald Ross Course is terrific. About 18 months ago the club restored the course to the original Ross plans. Greens are some of the finest you can plan anywhere. The bunkers have been dug out to the original specs and the fairways are in great shape. As a plus the club removed numerous trees and now the course is what it must have been like in 1929. It's a ball! They've done a great job and made it worth a special effort to play.

Nice Range, a great Par three Chip and Putt, if you don't have time for a full game. Very helpful staff. This is a true family center. Full Course you can learn on and still have fun, nice Chip and Putt and mini-golf for the kids. A fair price for the working man. No I don't own the place.

I played here twice so far. The fairways were in pretty good shape. They recently hired a new superintendent from Charlotte National (Dino) who produces some of the best greens in Charlotte. With a little time, he will have those greens rolling right. He has already started re-doing all the bunkers. Some walks from green to the next tee would be impossible to make. It has some beautiful holes. Most bunkers did not have enough sand in them, but they're being re-worked now with some getting all new drainage and sand and some being filled in as grass bunkers. This will make it a fairer course.
