Lakeview Resort - Lakeview Course

This resort has two outstanding eighteen hole courses. These resort courses are very different. Both courses have been cut out of a forest. The older Lakeview Course has narrower fairways and more trees than the Mountainview Course. There is water only coming into play on one hole. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 5th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996, and also rated it the 4th "Best in State" course for 1995-96. The Mountainview Course is very hilly and its medium-sized greens have some undulation. Water hazards come into play on two holes.

great courses, Dec 07, 2004
reviewer: Doug Gibson from Newmarket, Ontario Canada
I had the opportunity to stay at the Lakewood Resort last spring (2004) and was very impressed. Both courses are exceptional. The Lakeside course is a more traditional style course while the Mountain course is built into the side of the mountain around a lake. Both courses are a very good test of golf. The greens were pretty fast when I was there. Good service and very good food at the resort.

I LOVE LAKEVIEW, Feb 22, 2004
reviewer: Anonymous from PITTSBURGH PA
I have beaten my husband 4 out of 5 times we have played there! He taught me how to play when we got married 13 years ago. He had played golf for over 24 years before he met me. I was invited to play in the WV tri-state open at Preston country club and was my caddie. My best round at Lakeview was last year (2003) and had a 92 on the Lakeview course; we live in Pittsburgh and try to play Lakeview at least 4 times a year. My favorite hole is number 1 as I have birdied it several times.
