This course's terrain varies from flat to hilly. The fairways are open, and the greens are medium in size and speed. There are water hazards that come into play on eight holes, including five on the front nine. Your round concludes with a 426-yard, par 5, featuring a narrow fairway with a water hazard down the left side. Tee times are only reserved for the weekends and holidays. The course became eighteen holes in 1991, after nine additional holes were designed and completed by Earl Stone.

| I play Deer Run and I notice that each time I go that the dead spots are getting a little worse. The course would definately get 4 or even 5 stars if people would repair their ball marks on the greens. |

| Beautiful scene with great hills and skyline around the course. Great price for a really challenging setup. Well maintained layout and friendly staff, overall a great course hidden in the middle of Lawrence County. Southern golf at its best. |
