White Pines Country Club

Mount Airy, NC 27030
Phone: (336)786-6616

This course was built on rolling hills and is highlighted by beautiful views of the countryside. There are many tall pine trees that can affect your shots. The small greens are slightly sloped, elevated and well bunkered. The most difficult hole is #9, a 590-yard, par 5, requiring an uphill tee shot to a dogleg right fairway with out-of-bounds stakes lining the right side.

My experiences at White Pines, Apr 15, 2004
reviewer: JW32672 from Mt. Airy, NC USA
I have played White Pines on several occasions. It has always been enjoyable. With a friendly staff and a course that is kept in good shape, plus hardly no wait on the first tee, not to mention very affordable green fees makes it great for beginners. But the course can be quite difficult and is not very forgiving. There are several holes where your tee shot must be well-placed or your second shot will be quite difficult. Club selection and accuracy off the tee are a must to play below par on this course.

Golfable Golf Quote of the Day:
" The sport of choice for the urban poor is basketball. The sport of choice for maintenance level employees is bowling. The sport of choice for front-line workers is football. The sport of choice for supervisors is baseball. The sport of choice for middle management is tennis. The sport of choice for corporate officers is golf. Conclusion: The higher you are in the corporate structure, the smaller your balls become. -- Author Unknown "
