The design of the course was inspired by the eighteen best golf holes in the country as selected by "Sports Illustrated Magazine." It took eleven years to build, and it is superbly maintained. Although it's considered a challenging course, the high-handicap, shorter hitter can have just as satisfying a round as the expert. This is a tight course with water hazards and sand bunkers in play on every hole. The greens are fast and hard to read. The course was voted as a 1994 favorite Public Golf Course in Pennsylvania by the readers of "Golfers Journal."

Course is in very good condition. First hole is quite a challenge, up hill and a slight water hazzard. Large greens make for some interesting puts. They offer many perks related to combination of casino play and golf. Be prepared to play a long round (5 hours is norm). The course should invest in a few rangers to keep play moving. Overall would surely play another time.

This course is tough dont let the intro fool you..first hole is a nightmare second shot if you havent played there before so be sure to ask the old guy in the hat who gives you the ticket how to play the first hole...knowledge and shot placement are key to this course...the 18 best is very hard to decipher...but the course is beautiful and very challenging...you will love the large greens..it will make you feel like your jeff maggert..but the greens are large and hard to read making you feel much like retief goosen on the 18th at the us open a few years back...the hotel shut down becuase it was stuck in the 70's but this course is as good as it gets in the POCS..enjoy..you wont break 40 on the front nine..

"One of the better ones around"
Nicely maintained, well conditioned course. A little short from the whites, and perhaps a little long from the championship tees for the average golfer. Water comes into play on many holes, as does out of bounds. Greens are medium sized and fairly flat, but several have devilish breaks. Holes seven and eight can make or break your round, and when playing into the wind, the eighteenth is as tough a finishing hole as there is in the area. There has been talk about going private for several years, but it appears as if it will happen sometime in 2004, so if you have the opportunity to play, do it soon!!

Cold Springs Golf & Country Club
"Customer Service, can make a day."
I recently went and played the small country club in eastern California, at the end of the summer. The Pro Keith Rader was extremely kind helping me find the place. The staff appeared to be a little grungy when I got there Larry a staff employee, while not the best looking gentleman was one of the nicest people there. The assistant a tall, upbeat young man always smileing had a few good pointers for my golf game. Though I don't remember his name I am sure we will see him further his golf career, he really seemed to know his stuff. Thanks to Cold Springs, and what an enjoyable day

Fox Valley Golf Club
"quality at reasonable price"
One of the best course in the fox valley region. You pay for a membership and by the end of the summer you have played enough rounds to balance out the price. Prices are reasonable enough to allow members to bring a non-member at an affordable cost. The layout of the course challenges both right and left handed golfers.
