This desert-style course, built on fairly flat terrain, is easy to walk. Only one hole features a water hazard. Any balls leaving the fairway will either land in the rough or the brush and scrub. In order to play this course, non-military personnel must have a current drivers license, car registration and automobile insurance to gain access to the base.

This is a very nice course to play on. Not the most difficult course you will ever see, but it does have its moments. There is plenty of water and bunkers to keep any golfer busy. Also, the last four holes make the course very challegning. Holes 15 and 16 are the two of the longest par fives on the course. They are followed by the longest par 3 and the you finish of the round with the longest par 4 of the course. The scenery is definetly great, as is the atomosphere. Also, there is a state-of-the-art range and chipping green that could compete with any other clubs.

This Course is set out to have you playing for par rather than birdie. Tricky bunkers, well placed trees, and water make the Bartow Golf Course frustrating at times. Minor elevation changes enhance play as do friendly people. Give it a try.
