This scenic course's fairways can be deceiving from off the tee boxes. Many sand bunkers have been positioned around the course, and the sloped greens are elevated. This terrain is hilly, so you can expect some uneven lies. Deer are frequently seen crossing the fairways. The club personnel strongly suggest that people should take a riding cart when playing this course during the heat of summer.

Turtle Hill is a good golf course. the front nine is fairly open so a player is not challenged as much if he/she doesn't hit the fairway. The back nine is the jewel of this course. Lots of Hills, trees and natural areas. the greens were a little rough due to the summer heat of Texas. All in all its a fun course and a nice place to get away.

I played the Turtle on 27 Aug 07, and it was a great experience. The course was in good shape and the greens were great. The hills made this a fun course, but not difficult. Elevated tee box on a couple of holes, especially #11, it drops 120 feet to the green. I plan to visit more.

Scenic course, fun to play, Jul 05, 2007 |

It takes a while to drive out to Turtle Hill, but the drive is worth it. Elevation changes, hilly terrain is very unique for this North Texas venue. Several holes run parallel with other holes, but there are enough different-looking holes to keep you interested. Beautiful par 3 signature hole is one of a kind for North Texas area. Very playable golf course; if you hit the shots, you can score well. Greens are usually in very good shape. PLEASE!!! REPAIR YOUR BALL MARKS ON THE GREENS!!! Afternoon scrambles on Fridays are a blast; usually a very good turnout for these. Will definitely return to play this course again!

This course was alot of fun to play. Many elevation changes which are a nice change to the typical north texas golf courses. This isnt a prefectly manicured course but it is still a great place to play. We are planning a guys weekend get away to turtle hill for the great golf, and value.

I have enjoyed this course for many years now and I can't think of a nicer public course. I would compare this course to The Cliffs at PK, but you will not need as many golf balls.
