Four Winds Golf Course23110 W Hwy 176 Mundelein, IL 60060 Phone: (847)566-8502Fax: (847)566-8531
This narrow course has white birch trees lining the holes, and a standard cut of rough bordering all the fairways. The terrain varies between some flat holes and others that are hilly. The greens are large, undulating and medium speed, and there are many out-of-bounds stakes lining the holes. All the tee boxes are elevated as well as some of the greens.

| At Four Winds you can enjoy mature trees and interesting holes. Women love this course because it's not too long. The clubhouse and refreshments staff are friendly and accomodating - maybe too much as one time we had to play behind FIVE high handicappers who all resembled David Crosby. For REAL golfers who are tired of playing holes that are surrounded by back yards (White Deer Run, Heather Ridge, Aboretum), Four Winds will be a real treat. |

| Poor mans Medinah is how a friend described this course, and he is basically correct. It is well taken care of and an absolute brute from the tips if you don't hit it straight. OB will kill you if the trees don't get you first. (there are many) The first hole is a short par 4 and the driver is best left in the bag. Hit something about 150 or so and you have any easy shot in. The second is a short par 3 over a pond to a small, well sloped green. The holes get more interesting from there. The two remaining par 3's (on the front 9) are 200+ yards, very challenging. The front also has back to back par 5's, the seccond of which is tough. The back is equally difficult finishing with a pond fronting the 17th green and an 18th fairway which slopes severly from left to right. If you're long, you can try to fly the trees on 18 and cut the corner, but it is definately risky. Nice course. |
