This club has three nine hole courses that are played in three eighteen hole combinations. All three traditionally-designed courses have many elevation changes. The fairways are contoured, fairly narrow, and feature well-placed sand bunkers. There are a lot of trees lining the fairways, and the undulating terrain gives you the impression you are playing a North Carolina mountain course. There are lakes that come into play on several holes. A large lake on the right side of the Cypress Course comes into play on holes #1, #2, and #3. This lake eventually feeds into the Intracoastal Waterway. The signature hole on the Cypress Course is #4, a 355-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot over a lake to an elevated fairway, then an approach shot that crosses back over the lake to a green that is back dropped by the Intracoastal Waterway. The signature hole on the Waterway Course is hole #5, a par 4 that parallels the waterway with a lake bordering the fairway on the opposite side. Twin Lakes Golf Club
"Hidden Golf Jewel In the Ozarks"
The Twin Lakes Golf Course is an 18 hole par 70 course with tree lined fairways and bentgrass greens. This is a semi-private course opeerated by its over 350 members. The course is open to the public on a daily fee basis. Visitors to the Twin Lakes area find this challenging course a delight. The information provided about this site on golfable.com is dated. The course has experienced significant upgrades in the last few years and provides a challenge for those used to wide open courses. Chapel Hill Country Club
"HARD TO GET ON - GREAT TO PLAY"
Course is a traditional style designed by Gene Hamm and renovated by John LaFoy in 1999. This is the only private course in Chapel Hill. Walking is encouraged and it is a great way to experience the course. Signature hole IS NOT # 14. It's # 10 which can require carry over water twice. Pin on this hole makes 3 to 4 clubs difference on second shot. It's a beauty! Only one hole without bunkers - the par 3 9th is about 175 uphill from middle tees. Out of bounds on many of the holes as the fairways rise and fall through a very established traditional and exclusive neighborhood. Greens are all large (with at least 6 different zones on each one for pin placement)and have many contours. Three putts are common - especially in spring and fall when the bent grass surface is kept very fast. Bring your thinking cap, but also bring your game if your fun comes from scoring well. It's not an easy course, but it's not Jack Nicklaus difficult either.
