This course's design includes plenty of water in play on several occasions, such as on the signature hole, #13, a 590-yard, par 5, which plays alongside a large lake. The club hosted the Senior PGA Tour's Tour Championship in 1994."GOLF Magazine" rated it 19th best under the category of "Top 100 Courses You Can Play in the U.S." for 1996, and 36th for 1998. The same publication selected it 95th among the "Top 100 Courses in the U.S." for 1995, and 79th for 1997 and 100th for 1999. "GOLFWEEK" placed it 54th among "America's 100 Best Classical Courses" in 1997, 76th in 1998 and 87th in 1999.

Superb on the strand, Mar 03, 2005

In an area full of bustling nightlife, buffets and more courses than you can throw a 2-iron at, The Dunes is tradition at it's finest. Purely enjoyable golf is to be had on this old-school layout that uses nature to challenge the ball-striker rather than jacking tees to the edge of the earth. Absolutely beautiful oaks decorated with Spanish moss, sparkling blue lakes teeming with wildlife and turf that will make you want to sit down and eat off of it. This is a golf purist's dream!
