This course is a member of the National Audubon Society and well known for its extraordinary wildlife, especially the large number of birds. It is also only a five-minute drive from Myrtle Beach International Airport. The fairways are narrow, and water hazards come into play on several holes. The most demanding hole is #12, a 567-yard, par 5, featuring a scenic water hazard flowing the entire length of the fairway. The fairway on this hole is sloped toward the water, making it even more dangerous off the tee. Ken Dye and Baxter Spann designed the back nine, which was added in 1986.

This golf course is sneaky long, but it is made difficult because the greens won't hold a shot longer than a nine iron, the greens are too small and there is very little space on either side of most of the greens to make a chip shot. This course is much poorer than several public layouts and the membership is both expensive and poorly managed.

"Great Track, Hard yet rewarding"
Played this course over the last week, this track is one not to miss. Clasic Joe Lee Design, lots of bunkers and water. This is a thinking man's course. Don't be disappointed is this track play's longer then whats on the card. It does. Play this one and you'll be back again and again.

The greens are well kept and very fast at times. Many are sloped and undulated which makes putting difficult at times. The course is pretty open but has a nice layout.
