This course is set in the beautiful southern Oregon banana belt. It is situated on rolling terrain in an incredibly picturesque valley. The course is wide open, but the very rolling terrain makes the course very challenging. Ball placement plays an important role during a round. The greens are very large and undulating, making precise putting important to achieving par. "Golf Digest" selected this course 7th on its list of "Best New Affordable Public Courses" for 1998.

Great Course but..., Jul 18, 2010 |

| Great track. Fantastic landscape. Challenging greens (lots of undulation), uncrowded most of the time. But... Two days in a row, they never told us the 'mens club' goes out at 5pm for a shotgun start and completely takes over the course. And the club members could care less that you are suddenly squeezed between 4 and 5'somes and suddenly have second status. Also, whoever thought green traps were a good idea should be drawn and quartered. No sand in some bunkers, many waterlogged. Good sand players could spend DAYS in a bunker, when they aren't raked or kept up. Never saw a worker in 2 days - elk and mountain lion tracks in many bunkers. Suggest you ditch the rotten heavy coarse sand and go back to white sand. And tell the mens club to realize visitors have rights too when they come charging over the hills in their carts! |

Best golf under $100 in Oregon..., Jul 12, 2004 |

| The Myrtle Creek Golf Course is the best course in Douglas County. It is also the best deal in all of Oregon. This is a championship style golf course with challenging greens, often times protected by multiple sand traps and water hazards. All for under $50, which is absolutely amazing! This is the diamond in the rough that most people can only dream of. I HIGHLY recommend it, challenging and well worth the drive. |
