This hilly course is best known for its outstanding greens. Locals say the greens are "the best in the State of Texas." The small greens vary in undulation and their speeds are determined by the seasonal weather conditions. Most of the fairways are tree lined, and all of them are bordered by a standard cut of rough.

| Not a bad tract. Short, sometimes tight layout. Unfortunately, played the course soon after overseeding, so didn't really get a read on the condition of the greens, most of which are quite small and turtle backed. With a little higher maintenance budget, the course could reach 4 star. On a side note, this course has more ant beds than any place I have ever seen. |

| I grew up playing this course and have since played courses all over the world. I still come back to play it every April. The course is short by todays standards but not easy. Every fairway is tree lined and accuracy off the tee is paramount. The greens are very small so you have to be hitting your irons precisely or you'll be chipping quite a bit. The greens are historically very fast and some could be described as unfair, like #7 and #17. However, that just makes it more fun if you are above the hole. If you love the smell of pine trees and forest, and love playing golf, you need to check this hidden gem out. |
