This course, located on an island, has a notorious reputation for being extremely difficult. In 1992, "Golf Digest" said that because of the strong winds, "it's the longest 6,100 yards you'll ever play." This is a Scottish links-style course that has many sand dunes as part of its design. Water hazards come into play on fourteen holes. This course overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and the Roanoke Sound, so beautiful scenic views are typical on every hole. The finishing hole is a 583-yard, par 5, which was rated by "Golf Digest" as one of the best holes in the state. "GOLFWEEK" rated this course the 33rd best course in the state. Green fees change a few times each year, so it is best to call ahead for current prices.

Very very nice course. Very difficult due to winds off the ocean. Winds kill ball flight and make club selection a must! I once hit a 3 iron on a very short par 3 over the ocean just to watch it float back onto green, 50 yard carry! Awesome course, well worth the money.

This is one of the hardest places to golf but a great challenge. One thing I did not like was lots of water and If you lose your ball in the rough forget abouth finding it.

"Enjoyable Round"
It is an average length course, but enjoyable. The fescue around the bunkers gives the course a nice look. There are some intersting holes such as one with a 2 tiered green right in front to make for a tough second shot from only around 60 yards. Some water but overall its fun and if you have the chance to play there do so.

This is a great course kept in extremely good shape. It is a little far out from Houston but if you live anywhere on the north side, it's well worth the drive. It's inexpensive and not crowded, especially on weekdays. The greens are in very good shape and the course is challenging without being a killer.

"Nice course, nice people"
This is a nice course, tree lined but no water. Pace of play is good, 4 hours is usual. Great driving range, two putting greens. The staff is friendly and accomodating.
