This course's front and back nines are completely different. The front nine features narrow, tree-lined fairways, while the back nine has more open fairways. The course is located in a quiet setting and offers many great views of the San Francisco Bay. The signature hole is #11, a 135-yard, par 3, featuring both an elevated tee and green, and requiring a tee shot over a valley to a sloped green. There are several lakes in the design. Robert Muir Graves redesigned the course in 1973, and Ron Fream added nine new holes and redesigned the others in 1987.

This is one of the most beautiful courses I have ever played. The wildlife is abundant and the fairways in excellent shape. A must play for any serious golfer.

"beautiful and testing"
Holly Tree offers a beatiful layout along rolling hills in Simpsonville. The holes are all unique with something special about each one that makes fun to play over and over. My favorite whole is number 17 because it is short dog leg left where ur first shot needs to be long and straight, and then its downhill from there with a short low approach onto a well protected green.

Deer Lake Golf Course
"The New Management has made Deer Lake GREAT"
I've been a golfer for alomost 20 years now (in North East Ohio) and it always delights me to find a course like Deer Lake. This course changed management about 3 years ago and there have been MAJOR improvements. The fairways have a much more professional feel to them and the greens are now firm and entertaining. This course has come a long, long way in the last couple of years and the new management should be congradulated. Not only that but greens fees are the lowest that I've found in the area. I've been a member for 20+ years and have a preference for this course. This course seems to have several improvements since the review up top. A large pond with fountain was added to the long par 5 #3, and several new tee boxes have been added for both the long-ballers and the seniors. The course is a challenge for most, especially the greens and tight fairways, but it also provides a really enjoyable 'walk in the park' for many. The course is often busy with couples walking the scenic tract. Seems a lot of people enjoy the league play as there are ladies leagues 3 days, evening leagues on 4 days, and a couples' league on Sunday afternoons that we have joined. Good course for good players, who enjoy the game.
