This stylish semi-private course features robust fairways lined with green pine trees and lush, undulating greens. The greens, as well as the fairways, are dimensionally-designed in proportion to the length of the holes. Shorter holes have tighter fairways. Natural wetland areas are plentiful on this course. The signature hole is #12, a 402-yard, par 4, which, according to course staff, depicts all the great features of the course. There are no home sites on this hole. An unobstructed view of an adjacent hole adds to the beauty of this hole.

Great greens and par 3's, Nov 08, 2004

The first 2 holes are among the most difficult you'll ever play. The par 5 1st doglegs after your second shot, which was over most of a preserve. The third shot is over water and a huge bunker. The par 3 2nd hole will have you praying for bogey. The white tees are on the short side - the blues make a big difference on the back. The greens are really undulating and extremely fast in season. Every par 3 is super.

This course provides play for every level of experience. Tee boxes are such that you can pretty much choose your challenge, and the course is exceptionally laid out and designed.

This course has terrific tree-lined holes with character. It blends the length and shot-making requirements that make these 100 year-old golf courses so much fun to play. The par-three 10th hole is one of the best holes in the East. The greens are equal in speed and difficulty to Oakmont. If given the opportunity, make arrangements to play.

I have played Ventura many times over the years and have always found it to be an excellent value and a lot of fun. In this day of $ 100.00 green fees,especially with the exchange,this couse is an excellent value. It is well maintained and challenging enough for any golfer. The staff has always been very courteous and helpful, from the time I arrived and had my clubs loaded onto a cart, until I was done and enjoyed the clubhouse fare. All in all an excellent bang for the buck and an extremely pleasurable experience.
