A fun afternoon, May 18, 2005

We played as guests on a brilliant Tuesday afternoon. Nobody was on the course, so we played at a quick pace, a pace accelerated by the lack of challenge the course provides. It seemed that every mis-hit stroke resulted in a playable ball. The people at the club were very affable and hospitable. We had an enjoyable (if unchallenging) time.

This course is pretty nice. It is kept in good shape, and the people who work their are very friendly. A complaint would be that it can get quite busy on the weekends. Also, the course is not incredibly challanging. Good for a casual day of golf though.

Great greens and thats just the start. From tee to green this course was in super shape. You must remember this is the dead of winter and the course was 5 star. "Best Kept Secret In Texas"
I am a very experienced player who really enjoyed the great conditions and excellent design of this golf course. I later found out that it is a Bill Coore design. Throckmorton Country Club
"The Best Little Course in West Texas!"
This 9 hole course is the hardest little course I have ever played! If you think the Links is hard wait until you play this bad boy! The hardest hole would probably be #7. This par 5 may look easy when you step up on these elevated tee boxes but just wait until you tee off. Thats when the adventure begins. The second hardest would the #5. This par 4 dogleg right is probably the hardest par 4 on the course. Of course there are a few easy holes thrown in just so you don't lose your confidence. So if you are ever traveling through Throckmorton; be sure and stop to play "The Best Little Course in West Texas!"
