This is a challenging course. With the winds and the water coming into play on ten holes, it becomes difficult at times for even the scratch golfer. For those in the military, this course is one of the best-kept secrets among military courses. The finishing hole is typical of the challenge of the course. The 544-yard, par 5, features a dogleg left fairway with water running the entire length of the right side. The design is absolutely beautiful and the course set in perfect balance with the wildlife around it. When you mix it in with some exceptional golf, you get quite an experience. Tee times are only reserved on weekends and holidays.

| This course is very challenging. The housing side of the base was privatized, so now the course is open to the public. Still have low rates due to the military, which makes it an excellent bargain for the price. |

| Rated this course at 4 stars primarily in relation to other military courses. Prices are typical military bargain, but the relatively light play here compared to NAS Jax makes this a real pleasure. I've mostly played here on weekdays and have never had to wait to start, and play is usually very fast. The design is pleasant to play for all skill levels. After your first round you'll look forward to your next round to take advantage of course knowledge. Fairway conditions usually are average and greens are normally very good. Fun par 3's and hidden challenges on many of the holes if you spray the ball. Long hitters don't have an unfair advantage...premium is on accuracy. |
