This course is situated amongst the picturesque hills above New York City. The clubhouse is situated on top of a hill and, on a clear day or evening, offers an incredible view of New York City down below. The course is located on very hilly terrain. Some of the fairways are very narrow with numerous trees lining the holes. The design also includes several water hazards and sand bunkers strategically placed throughout the course. The greens are undulating, making precise putting crucial to achieving a good score.

| I played it last week and didn't find it to be anywhere near the horror story the previous posters depicted. Maybe a year makes a difference...$75 for seemed more than reasonable for a round. There wasn't any construction on the course, the greens played great (although I did not!) and the view was tremendous. The food wasn't bad at all, either--I shared lobster ravioli for an appetizer and ordered a Thai noodle bowl with shrimp tempura for an entree and it was just fabulous! My partner just ordered a cheeseburger from the Lunch section of the menu but even that looked tempting. I don't mean to sound like an ad for the place, I'm just confused as to how it got such low ratings from previous reviewers. I'm definitely playing here again soon. |

It has gotten better, Sep 06, 2009 |

| The course is playing well now, the fairways are plush and the greens are rolling nice, I just think it is a little over priced for the area, there are 3 other local courses within a 15 min drive that are cheaper and play just as well. I have yet to see a cart girl, except on days when they have an outing. The grill is not to bad food wise. I would suggest you play it once just for the experience. I was given a membership, so I play here at least once a week. |

Worst Value in 5 Years of living in NYC, Apr 19, 2009 |

| In short, way over priced and tee times are stacked to close together. Staff were poor. No discount for temporary hole. Work being done on every hole. Food and drinks expensive. Course was about the quality of a $50 course, no memorable holes and conditions beyond poor. It takes a lot for me to complain but I dont want others to have a day off spoiled. |

| This was the worst display of golf I ever attended. The staff was horriable and the management was worse. The course was in okay shape but needed work. The food was bad and the bar was dirty. The price is way too expensive for such a low grade facilty. If I was you I would save my money and play a public course, not to mention they had a golf outing going on and after about a 6 hour round the managment didnt know how to repay us for our horific day. This was the worst experince in my life I almmost quit golf because of it. You could'nt pay me to play there again |

| I AM SPENDING A FEW WEEKS IN THE METROPOLITAN AREA AND I AM TRYING TO PLAY A VARIETY OF COURSES. I SAW AN ADD ON TV FOR THIS CLUB AND THE ADD DID INDUCE ME TO PLAY. IT WAS NOT WHAT I EXPECTED. I WAS VERY LET DOWN. THE COURSE SHOULD BE CLOSED FOR A PERIOD OF TIME TO LET THE OWNERS MAKE UP THEIR MIND WHAT KIND OF COURSE AND FACILITY THEY WANT. MUNICIPAL COURSE ARE KEPT IN BETTER SHAPE. THE COURSE HAS POTENTIAL TO BE A FIRST CLASS LAYOUT BUT MUCH WORK NEEDS TO BE DONE. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND PLAY 2 ROUNDS ELSEWHERE. |

Wonderful Experience, Apr 05, 2004 |

| My day at the New York Country Club was indeed enjoyable. While the price seemed high for a round, I feel that it was worth it. The higher price kept hackers off the course, and the quality of people I delt with was first class. The course itself was challanging and obviously well played, but didn't stop it from good condition. To sum up this course, I can only say its a great, comfortable place to play a round of golf. I will definatly be back. |

Overpriced, Mar 30, 2004 |

| Good course. Not great or memorible. Holes 9 & 10 are jokes, straight uphill # 9 is too steep, #10 is driveable par 4 that will hurt someone eventually. Overpriced, will be public one day. |
