This eighteen hole daily fee course is situated on 197 acres overlooking the Tuscarawas Valley. The course is surrounded by lush, rolling hills and stately trees. The layout features more than an acre of protected wetlands. The greens are fast and undulating. Throughout the design there is a great variety of holes. The signature hole is #6, a 515-yard, par 5, which is very narrow and demanding. This is considered a typical risk/reward type of hole. The green, which used to be a complete island green, now has water surrounding the sides and back. The 5,920-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 73.6 and a slope rating of 127.

a must play course this summer !, Jun 16, 2004

once you have enjoyed the scenery of this great course, you have to get down to the business of figuring the right way to attack these greens. pin placement & your ability to read these tricky greens is the difference between pars + double bogeys. the bent grass fairways give you a fair shot to hit all of these greens in regulation. all of the distances are fair to the average golfer but placement of your tee shots is critical to a good approach shot. i like the first hole best - starting with a 3 shot par 5 is a good way to let your driver loose - hit a precise 2nd shot to leave yourself a pitching wedge to an elevated green. the par 4's that follow # 2 + 3 are short but still tricky & your approach must be high & accurate to hold these greens. to me #4 should be the #1 handicap hole! it plays much longer than the 380 yards on the scorecard reads - i'm happy to walk off that green with a bogey! your tee shot will be a slight downhill lie unless you can make it to the valley at about 230 yards - the 2nd shot is an uphill blast to an elevated green - well it just has to be played - you'll see for yourself. a par 3 with water bordering the green is next & then the narrow & trecherous # 6 - par 5 that takes precise shots to stay in bounds to a tight fairway! your 3rd shot to this short par five can leave you knocking as you view the water on all sides of this green with little protection for errant shots! #7 gives you a generous fairway but the green has ponds bordering both sides - right front & rear! #8 is the toughest of the par 3's - only 154 from the white tees - it's near impossible to hold any tee shot right of the pin! 3 putts are once again common place. #9 is a fair par 4 with a good size bunker bordering sliced 2nd shots to the green. onto the elevated tee shot of #10! another hole where the wind can dictate an average 380 yard par 4 or it can play like a par 5 if the wind is in your face. #11 - a tricky par 5 - not long but once again 3 good placed shots with water in play on your tee shot! #12 a tricky par 3 to an elevated green - once again, the green slopes left to right + 3 putts are the norm here. #13 - an average length par 4 but the hole is anything but average! from an elevated tee - water on the right comes into play on both your tee shot & approach. 3 - 6 shots are commonplace on this tricky par 4. #14 is a difficult par 4 - the fairway opens up to the right on the tee shot but the 2nd shot is tight with ob on the left + over the green.bunkers left + right guard this slick green! #15 is a par 3 - a long slender green looks easy to hit from the tee but as you approach the green, you'll find very little room to hold your tee shot. ( watch out another slick green here!) #16 is a winding par 4 with a huge fairway waste bunker to avoid your tee shot. your second shot has ob left + water right to a large 2 tier green. par is a good score on this one! #17 has 2 fairway bunkers to be avoided but if you do it's probably the easiest green to approach on this course. #18 is a wide par 5 finishing hole! o b left on your tee shot + water right can come into play on either shot 2 or 3. a huge bunker gurards the 18th green but the slope from back to front causes more problems than the hazards on this hole! all in all it's one of my favorite courses to play & i feel fortunate that this gem is only 20 minutes from my home! if you're in ne ohio - you deserve to treat yourself to an afternoon on this magnificent setting! in the fall - there is no more beautiful golf course in ohio! deer - rabbits - nests of birds & some wildlife you'll have to discover for yourself live in this setting! take the trip down to rt. 39 in new philly - you'll be happy to took the drive! to top all of this off - the staff is friendly & knowledgable & the green fees are fair for a course of this quality!!!
