This tight course has water hazards coming into play on eighty percent of its holes. Walking is permitted on the Championship Course during the off season only. On the Par Three Course, the terrain is flat, enabling this to be a good course for seniors to walk. Bill Amick added four new holes on the Championship Course and redesigned the others in 1986.

When someone asks where I want to play golf, I tell them Maggie Valley. It's a tough little course. Between the cypress roots along the edges of the fairways (so you'd better hit it down the middle) and the water holes....it's a challenging course to say the least. Their rates are very low for those of us on a fixed income. Keep up the good work, Maggie Valley!!

This course is one of the more difficult courses in the area. The narrow fairways and hidden water hazards make for a challenging round. The water hazards vary as the weather varies due to low lying areas in the course. The greens are a little on the rough side but this adds to the challenge. I play here on a regular basis and find the course improves my game.

Bass Rocks Golf Club
"A Classic golf Course"
Bass Rocks in my opinion is an ideal kind of golf course. Every time you play is different. The winds off the ocean can be a help at times. However, other times it can play havoc with your game. The course forces you to play almost every kind of shot there is. From high flops to knock downs, it will test your game. The staff is second to none. Friendly and always willing to offer a tip or two that will help make your round more enjoyable. The members make you feel right at home. Like they have known you for years, even if you just met. In my personal opinion, every town should have a club like Bass Rocks.

McPherson Country Club
"MCC was a tough little course"
I played in a Tourney there in June. It is a short course but one that demands shaping shots. MCC has postage stamp greens that are sloped and at times faster than any greens you will find anywhere. It is not uncommon to 3 or 4 whack on these greens that were well manicured. MCC is not your typical golf course but thats what makes it tough and fun. Bring your nerves cause this course is not a push-over to score low on.
