This club has fairways that are fairly wide open, and typically flat. The greens are medium-sized with moderate breaks, and there are some pine and maple trees, and Rhododendron bushes lining the fairways. Man-made lakes and a creek come into play on sixteen holes. One of the most challenging holes is #11, a 450-yard, par 4, which is tree lined on both sides and requires a shot straight uphill to an elevated green.

| I love this golf course, designed by George Cobb (who designed Quail Hollow, Augusta par 3, and half of Myrtle Beaches courses) built a great fun golf course in the NC mountains. The 2 nines are very different with the front 9 being more in tune with Scottish highland courses and the back 9 is truly beautiful mountain golf. #11 is a 450 yard uphill par 4, 15 is a wonderful 212 yd par 3 over a gorgeous pond and 17 is another demanding par 4. If you get a chance go there and play you'll be glad you did |
