This par 3 course only has a few holes with water in play. In addition, there are only a couple of sand bunkers as well. The greens are sloped and the fairways are tree lined.

Getting better, May 23, 2008 |

| The Rock is better than she used to be. A good 8 years ago I was not impressed. Last time out, the course management was improved and my score along with it. Thank you to the ground crew for the improvements. |

| Course was in at least average shape. Greens were a little slow, fairs in good shape, rough was thin in spots. Staff was somewhat friendly, but did not go all out. Overall, not bad, I'll play again |

Best shape in years, Jun 27, 2007 |
| reviewer: Paul
from Exeter, NH |
| In the past it has been known locally as "The Rock" due to it's hard and dry fairways and harder greens. I must say that over the last few years Rockingham has been transformed into a very enjoyable track. Not only is it in the best condition it's ever been but it provides most of us weekend athletes a course that we can actually walk for 18 holes and still function the next day. Leave your lob wedges at home though and practice that eight iron chip shot for the best chance at getting close to the pin. |

| Course was in good shape this fall. I have played better, but this was not bad. Come on Eddie, give it a rest. He was a bit harsh on his review. |

ROCKINGHAM UPDATE, Jul 30, 2004 |
| reviewer: RICHARD W WILSON
from GREENLAND N.H. AND RUSKIN,FL. |
| Recently,I checked out Rockingham Country Club on this website. A comment addressing the Rocks condition on March 27-04, one day after opening, was very disturbing. The comments called Rockingham a Par 3 cow pasture with green"s like gravel roads. First of all the Rock opened her doors on Mar-26-04 after what had been one of the worst NEW England winters in 25 years. Rockingham Superintentdent recalls Mar 27 and related the following: five of the regulation greens were closed do to winter conditions with temporary greens in effect. Furthermore the 4 remaining greens were not the greatest after a long hard winter. Rockingham is a regulation course not a par 3 or an Executive Course. I can tell you first hand, Rockingham Country Club has come light years over the past fifty years. Today she is one of the best kept courses in the state of N.H., thanks to a dedicated staff and ownership. Maybe the March assessment of the Rock was not totally accurate and somewhat premature by the gentleman from Maine. Come give this fine lady a second look. She has come a long way since those wet, cool days of March. I know you will find her an enjoyable experience from tee to green. R.W.WILSON Lifelong player at Rockingham Country Club |

Comments on Eddie Patenaude's review, Jul 29, 2004 |

| This is in response to the review by Eddie Patenaude. I work at Rockingham, and will rate it as Eddie did, so as not to appear biased. Eddie played on March 27, 2004. This was the second day that we were open for golf this spring. There were four temporary greens, and there had been 1/2" of rain the morning he played. Is it any wonder that conditions were not the best? As for the greens being a "dirt road", there actually was no bare ground on the greens, and they had come through the winter better than recent years. Please do not go by what Eddie says. Come and play and then rate it yourself. |

golfing in new england, Jun 07, 2004 |

| for all the golfers in new england. when courses open in feb. and mar. right after winter they tend to be uncut and the ground can be frozen making for tough play. so all these golfers making comments on the conditions think before you write. like this guy eddie from berwick maine. i've played up there and the courses remind me of cow pastures.i'm sure the play is much better now that its june. so please give us local courses a brake on your comments when you don't know what your talking about. |

What a nice little course, Jun 04, 2004 |
| reviewer: DAVID A
from PORTSMOUTH NH |
| To Eddie Patenaude, How is it possible that the greens are like a Dirt Road when its been very wet. I played there the same day as a matter of fact and they where great! The greens there are very well taken care of and you must not play golf. You seem very in expierenced with the sport! Rockingham CC is a great little course! |
