A must play course, May 26, 2004

A scenic, challenging course! Tee boxes, greens and fairways are all in excellent shape. Well kept!! Where else can you get such quality, have deer standing off the green while you are putting and see the owner of the course cutting his own grass. A must play for the serious golfer!!!!

Tee boxes are in good condition, fairways well groomed, Greens in excellent shape. The people who operate this course are pleasant and professional.

Course is challenging due to the hilly layout. Suitable for the duffer but better for the A or B golfer. Had a great time, will definetly return

This place is a must see. Nice greens cause i used to cut them in 1984. Excellent scenery and beautiful grounds. It is a great family owned golf couse. Well known throughout Chicago as the best kept secret.

Kis-N-Greens Golf Course
"Update"
The course has been expanded to 18 holes, par 72. The fairways are improved over the condition that they were in a year ago. Some greens have been expanded, with more to follow. 400 trees have been added to the course as of 2003. The trees are small but will help distinguish fairways from rough. Water comes into play on 6 holes. No sand, and the tee boxes need work (leveling) maybe some irragation on the fairways (more ponds needed). Overall, satisfied with course, wind makes it more difficult than it looks, and greens are deceiving.

Shadow Hawk Golf Club
"Fall Visit"
Shadow Hawk is a beautiful venue. The course is hard to rate in the middle of winter when the trees are not in bloom and leafy. The fairways are open and more than fair. The greens are as challenging as they come. They are filled with undulations that make straight putts rare. The greens roll fair and pretty fast. The clubhouse is very classy and comfortable (in winter, nicer than the course itself). I would hope to play this course again in summer (heat and all) to see the beauty. It was still fun and challenging for this 15 handicap player,

Manasquan River Golf Club
"What a jewel!"
As described, hilly front 9, blind shots, sidehill lies, fast greens...backside links style, flat but river and ocean breezes can wreak havoc...it has been re-rated and the rough grown to 5 inches...if you can play here, you can play anywhere. Apparently their members have won a number of NJ Amateur championships as well as participated in US Opens...speaks to the challenge of this layout.
