This tight course, built on old mining land, has high rough and a variety of terrain. There are several dogleg fairways in the design, and the greens are well-bunkered. The signature hole is #17, a 415-yard, par 4, requiring an approach shot over water. Three other holes on the back nine also require shots over water.

This course is a complete disaster. Maybe when Eisenhower was president it was acceptable. The clubhouse was filthy, the weeds have taken over, sand traps obviously not raked all year, a total waste of time and certainly money!!!!! Very disappointed, a real cow path!!!

The course management sucks. The proshop never has anything in it and they actually ran out of score cards. The grill or snack area hardly has any inventory and they never have any balls for the driving range. Every time I go there they always have excuses. Well I guess its my fault for still going.

Great Challenging Golf Course, Dec 18, 2006 |

The Scarlet Oaks Country Club Golf Course is a challenging, but friendly place to play a championship round of golf. The greens are well manicured and the fairways have new turf. I just found their website at www.scarletoaksgolf.com. I highly recommend it for a tournament or any type of corporate outing.

this golf course is the most awesome golf course in West Virginia,it is very enjoyable. The grill is a very nice place for us golfers to sit down and eat. I especially like the new chicken jalepeno bursts. I give this golf course a five star rating because of it's awesome terrain and great upkeeping of the land.

The golf course is looking better (4-20-04) however the changes that have occurred in recent weeks are making the course less friendly for our up-and-coming middle school students. A cart is manditory and an age of 16 (drivers license) is required so young men (and women) who are under 16 cannot come to the course and play or practice there as a team. The same concern is not evident with our over 21 players who choose to drink (heavily) and drive carts. It seems that they have special privileges to drink and drive. For a family experience, I would suggest membership in a more private setting.
