This course reopened in 1996 after being closed for eighteen months so Bob Cupp could perform a redesign. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 6th "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996. The signature hole is #11, a 170-yard, par 3, featuring some of the most breathtaking scenery on the entire course. The 6,013-yard men's tee also has a ladies' course rating of 75.9 and a slope of 140.

One of the most dissapointing rounds of golf i have ever been through.Beautiful day , but that was all.Greens were in terrible condition,fairways not much better.Was realy looking forward to playing this course ,will never go back!!!!!Don't waste your time or money.

There are some good holes on the course, but some very poor ones as well. #1 is a horrible hole, as well as #5 and 6.

I played a practice round with one of my friends before a tournament at Jimmie Austin Golf Course. I think the greens are very smooth and a very challenging feat to one-putt. Fairways are gentle and a very clean facility. I highly recommend it...

Lakes at El Segundo, The
"Great Course, Better Practice Facility"
The Lakes at El Segundo is a beutiful course with some stunning par 3s. The couse is made up of moslty short par 3s and a couple short par 4s. The holes are all very short and beautifully kept. This couse can be played by both beginners and eperts alike. The downsides are that the course is crowded, so expect to wait on the tees. I recomend reservations several days in advance. The other downside is that your day is over after only nine holes. The practice facility is excellent and Tiger Woods, who has a home in nearby Redondo Beach can often be seen playing there. It has an awesome driving range and a huge putting and chipping green. If your just out to get some practice in, or a quick nine holes, this is the place.

"Tough back nine"
The front nine is pretty straight forward, added soem distance in the last five years or so, so the couse is well over 6000 yards. Impecibly upkept, tough greens. The back nine is TOUGH more than one carry over water of over a hundred yards, elevetad greens, hilly fairways. very hard to get a flat lie on the back nine. Bring your patience to play here
