new to the area and have been golfing quite a bit at the "other" two area courses. we went to westover for the first time and really enjoyed the couse and the friendly staff. nice elevations and dogleg holes. greens seemed well kept in addition to fairways and fringes. i had no complaints and will be certain to play there again and again.

The management is incredibly unfriendly and the starters and rangers are worse. I've been playing at this course for the last two years and I'm done. Too many other local courses that are more fun, challenging, well manicured and above all have much nicer people who understand customer service. The putting greens are not well manicured and left unattended as far as ball marks from the day before. I know this because I was the first one to tee off today. The tee boxes are at the point where they need to be completely re-done. Most of the tee boxes are bald or balding with unrepaired divots, uneven ground and inconsistant with other courses in the area.

"great experiance"
My family and I played this mature course 10 mins. from the strip paid LESS THAN HALF the other coureses and they did not charge us extra for not being a local. Course is in great shape the staff was very nice and helpfull. Ill be back

San Jose Country Club
"Delightful Donald Ross Challange"
This private course was designed by Donald Ross to be a resort course in the early twentieth century. It was purchased after World War II by locals and formed into a club known as San Jose Golf and Country Club and has been sucessfully maintained as the private club since. It is the home course to many prominent Jacksonville residents. One must be a member or guest to play. It is a par 72. The greens are all adjacent to the tees, so that it can be walked easily. There are water hazards sprinkled throughout the course, which make it a dangerous layout for errant shots. The moderately fast greens are well maintained Burmuda and are sometimes puzzling with rolling configuration. A mature course--kept in excellent shape year-round.

Stony Creek is a fun, hilly course that has it's share of challenging holes. I play it two to three times a year. It's a good value.

Green Valley Country Club

This golf course stays in great shape year round. It is a quiet course tucked away in the hills of Lake County. The layout of this course will challenge you without making you mad. The price to play this course is also very affordable. It is one of the cheapest places to play without sacrificing quality.
