This course features fast and large greens, plus tree-lined fairways. In addition, water hazards come into play on two holes, and several sand bunkers have been positioned throughout the course. Donald Ross redesigned the course in the 1930's.

Best Kept Secret, Sep 03, 2005

From it's historic club house (where the scenic view is unparralleled)within the equally historic town of North Dartmouth, to it's location (running from the highest point in town, to one of it's lowest points), this is truly one of the best kept secrets in golf. With fabulous vistas to add to it's challenging course layout, sumptuous fairways and felt-like greens, the Country Club of New Bedford is a continual delight. Making use of unique topographical features such as a the 7 foot high granite ridge that runs across the 2nd fairway as well as natural water features on the lower section of the course, this immaculately tended and picturesque course combines all the best elements of the golfing experience. I have played several famous and demanding courses, but The Country Club of New Bedford remains the standard that the rest pale in comparison to.

Marshall Canyon Golf Club
"Trickier than you think and don't EVER walk."
Marshall Canyon is a fun course with some quirky holes but for the most part it is pretty fair. The greens are trickier than you think and there are some hole placements that totally suck if you get above the hole. It is a hilly course that you don't want to walk unless you are in very good walking shape. All in all, it is a good course with a decent price.

"My review"
A very nice course! I haven't played many course's, but this is my favorite. It's a nice looking course, flows nicely, and it's different (woods to link style), plus it's in my home town. The rates are reasonable, but they (non-resident)may need to be lowered a bit to get people through the gates. For a course this nice, it should have a functioning club house (i.e., bar, resturant, function hall, etc.), get Titleist as sponsor.
