This course was built on open terrain, but there are some mature trees that can alter your shots. The course is hilly, so expect many uneven lies. Water hazards only come into play on two holes. There are additional sets of tees that can be used when playing an eighteen hole round.

Underated, Feb 04, 2005

Hawthorne in my opinion is very underated. I know its not a 4 or 5 star course. However if you are a beginner or even average golfer this may be a course to check out sometime. The green fees are fairly cheap and the couse at certain times of the year is not in that bad of shape. If your looking for a low profile course to play sometime this may be a good option.
