Fun course, Sep 21, 2005

Pine Lakes, which is open to the public, is an enjoyable executive course. Water comes in to play on several of the holes. Despite having a couple of really short holes, the course is quite challenging. One of these short holes, visible from U.S. 41, is a par three that plays like a par five, in the opinion of at least two community residents. Making par on this hole is a real challenge.....and something I accomplished the first time I played the course. Many greens are small and sloped, and getting down in one can be really difficult. Given the quality of the course, I am quite glad that my wife and I decided to buy a home in this golf community.

"The Best Pound for Pound"
The dunes is possibly the best course for the money in the entire state! I give the course five stars due to its all around duffer enjoyment. The course itself allows for not just a fun but also a challenging round. The beauty of such a course in such a desolate location is unbelievable, as is the staff. I was surprised at how improved the conditions were at Mount Hood when I played it in the fall of 2003. There are new people running the place and I'd never believe it to be the same course I played a couple years back. One of the guys I played with was the teaching pro which made it fun and enjoyable to go around the course.

This course is probably one of the nicest ones I've ever played! - I MEAN IT!!! The greens were very well kept, the clubhouse was delightful, and my wife loved your fairways! I played here, once,-back in the 60's, but it was quite different then. (To be honest it looks allot smaller, and I don't remember there being any Homes so near the course?) We WILL be back, this summer!
