This course has enough variety of terrain and hazards to challenge the most experienced of golfer. There are continuous cart paths throughout the course. The fairways are tree lined and moderately tight. Hole #11 is referred to as "the monster," a 515-yard, par 5, requiring an approach shot over a wide ravine to a well-bunkered and contoured green. Hole #16, a 423-yard, par 4, is unique because it has a waste bunker that runs down the entire right side of the fairway and is well bunkered on the left. This hole requires an approach shot over water to a well-bunkered green.

Excellent place to play, Jul 06, 2006

Having been a North Olmsted resident for years and having golfed Springvale many times I can say that it has NEVER been in better shape. The course maintenance has been a steady work in progress that is finally paying off. If you have the time jump out and golf Springvale. Coupons are available in most books. Well worth the time. Challenging for me and i am a pretty darn good golfer.

A diamond still a little rough, Mar 22, 2004

Springvale is a course that has been in a transition stage for what seems like forever. Going from a family owned to a now city run course has taken time but has proven to be worth the wait. Improvements on the course layout, irrigation and drainage systems as well as adding an all new clubhouse make for a very pleasurable golfing experience. The practice range, which butts up against the backyard of a privately own home, is okay as long as you planned to practice your short irons (7 through wedge). The putting green is adequate. The actual course is an older design, i.e. meaning they managed to fit a 18 hole course on a 14 hole layout, but it has been spruced up a bit in recent years. A note of advise for low handicap golfers, play it from the tips to have the most fun. There are several Par 4 holes located on the course that can easily be hit in 1. The Par 5, 515 yard 11th hole dubbed "The Monster" can be tamed with a good drive and a decent middle iron. The 16th hole significantly challenging hole on the course if you're not prone to hit the ball straight but otherwise, keeping a decent drive in play should produce high 60's low 70's score pretty much every time.
