Seminole Golf Club901 Seminole Blvd North Palm Beach, FL 33408 Phone: (561)626-0280Fax: (561)775-0298
This course was chosen by "Golf Digest" as the top course in the state for the years 1995 through 1998. It is designed with the Scottish links-style in mind, so there are few trees but plenty of water hazards. Many holes were designed to play alongside the ocean. Most of the greens and tees are slightly elevated, and the terrain is predominantly flat, but there is a ridge of mounding that comes into play in the middle of the course. The greens are somewhat large, undulating and reasonably fast. The signature hole is #18, a 417-yard, par 4, which borders the ocean. This club only allows members and their guests to the play the course. "Golf Digest" also rated this course 15th best out of "America's 100 Greatest Courses" for 1995-96, and 12th for 1997-98. "GOLF Magazine" selected the course 11th on its list of the "Top 100 Courses in the U.S." for 1995, 12th in 1997 and 10th in 1999. "GOLFWEEK" chose it 15th on its list of "America's 100 Best Classical Courses" for 1997, 13th for 1998 and 14th for 1999. Dick Wilson redesigned the course in 1947 and Ed Connor did some restorations in 1991.

| One of those mythical courses that when you play it, well, you are underwhelmed. Sure, Hogan spent time there, a lot of time, but he wouldn't be spending it there today. They have just reworked the fairways, but the greens are the issue, slow grainy Bermuda. (I was told these are going to be replaced soon, as well.) The course is just too darn flat-- #1 and #10 are indistinguishable; they're same hole (mirror images) and next to each other. The foliage on the dunes which border the course to the east above the ocean has been allowed to grow very high, probably for privacy, but this largely eliminates any views of the ocean. Incredibly well cared for. But this is not a Top 100 course any longer. |

| Stunning location and beautifully laid out, this is a thinking golfer's course that can reach up and bite you, really bite, at anytime. Better bring your A-game and a lot of humility.
Rare to find an almost original course from the early 1900's that is still challenging- this one is on virtually every hole without being long.
Saw a +2 handicapper take a six on a Par 3 and he earned it the hard way. Greens are unbelievable and run true forever (as I learned the hard way). Do NOT ever make the mistake of being above a hole here! |

| Seminole is number one in my book. Located on the ocean and designed by Donald Ross, it doesn't get any better than this. The fairways are pristine and the greens are lightning. I have played it three times in tournament conditions and have loved every moment. |
