This course places a premium on accuracy, not distance. The fairways are tight and tree lined. There are water hazards and a creek flowing throughout the course that come into play at least seven times. The club was established in 1893 and was recognized by "GOLF Magazine" in their 1995 list of "The First 100 Clubs in America." William Langford (1951), Larry Packard (1977) and Dick Nugent (1985) have performed renovations on this course.

I am a caddie at the club and on the occasions that I have been allowed to play, my experience has been unsurpassed. This club is a beautiful 18 hole course located in the suburbs of Chicago, which is a hard thing to come by. Unfortuneatly for all of you... Its members only.

This place is a must see. Nice greens cause i used to cut them in 1984. Excellent scenery and beautiful grounds. It is a great family owned golf couse. Well known throughout Chicago as the best kept secret.

Oak Park Country Club

This is a very nice course to play on. Not the most difficult course you will ever see, but it does have its moments. There is plenty of water and bunkers to keep any golfer busy. Also, the last four holes make the course very challegning. Holes 15 and 16 are the two of the longest par fives on the course. They are followed by the longest par 3 and the you finish of the round with the longest par 4 of the course. The scenery is definetly great, as is the atomosphere. Also, there is a state-of-the-art range and chipping green that could compete with any other clubs.

Shadow Hawk Golf Club
"Fall Visit"
Shadow Hawk is a beautiful venue. The course is hard to rate in the middle of winter when the trees are not in bloom and leafy. The fairways are open and more than fair. The greens are as challenging as they come. They are filled with undulations that make straight putts rare. The greens roll fair and pretty fast. The clubhouse is very classy and comfortable (in winter, nicer than the course itself). I would hope to play this course again in summer (heat and all) to see the beauty. It was still fun and challenging for this 15 handicap player,
