Pine Grove is a great layout - though fairway conditions are fair at best. The greens are well manicured - the price is fantastic - The 17th hole - is LONG - 600 yards! - and an uphill walk all the way. I can't be critical of some of the conditions because it is so reasonable price wise. The help is friendly as well.

Great Value - Course has potential..., Sep 22, 2005

You can't find a better value in this part of MA. I agree with the previous reviewer regarding the back nine - The 6 hundred yard 17th is as tough a walk as any single hole in the state! The course is pretty and has solitude on weekdays - the fairways are fair (at best) - If this course was fertilized and irrigated regularly it would be "special" and would cost much more I'm sure... I enjoyed my round - just a little over par until a seven on 17! I'll come back - it is a challenge and has a lot of variety... People are nice....

Hilly and Narrow, Oct 11, 2004

Went to play a round on this course in late fall on a windy day. I would recommend a cart for anyone who does not want to huff and puff up some very steep and moderately long walks between tees. This is especially true on the back nine. Several of the tee boxes were in very poor shape and the fairways and ruff were not mowed in any discernable way that I could tell. This course has tight fairways and very sloped greens mostly angled towards you on approach. The 18th's green has a ridge so rolling that at points that I could not even set the ball down with out it starting to roll. Overall a very challenging course in need of some repairs in places.
