This is an older course with well-manicured greens and many mature trees lining the fairways. The terrain varies in undulation, and the fairways are narrow. Several lakes and ponds come into play. "Golf Digest" rated this course as the 23rd "Best in State" course for 1997-98. The ladies' par is actually 76. This facility also offers a four hole par 3 course that is primarily for children.

"Beautiful"
This is a beautiful course especially in the fall. The holes are surrounded by mountains as it sits in a beautiful valley. The course is kept in great shape and the holes are all playable for advanced to novice players. In general this is 18 holes of great golf.

Lufkin Country Club
"Very fun, and inexpensive."
This course is a very well kept secret in the old part of Lufkin, Texas. Not your upper tier type course but cheap for the quality. Fairways are very plush with just a very few spots that need work. And the greens, oh wow, possibly the best greens in the Lufkin-Nacogdoches area (including Crown Colony). It has the very challenging holes that you need to play cautious golf, and then it has the type of holes that you can attack with everything you have. When you finish this course, you will definately want to come back for more.

Midlakes Club
"Outstanding lake views"
Midlakes was a joy to play, the expansive views of Skaneateles Lake were unlike any I have seen in this area of New York. Fairways were lush, lots of tee choices, but a bit short. Still was challenging though for us average golfers. 5 stars for the scenery, 3-4 for the rest.
